Need a good laugh? Who doesn’t these days? Narrows Community Theater, Inc., a Bay Ridge-based theatrical company, will provide plenty of laughs with its new production.

Narrows Community Theater is presenting “Noises Off” by British playwright Michael Frayn, for a limited run starting Feb. 15, at Saint Patrick Church Auditorium, Fourth Avenue and 97th Street.

The New York Post called the 1982 play, “the funniest farce ever written.”

Gary Kozak plays the temperamental director Lloyd Dallas in the “play within the play” that sets the stage for this comedy. The play introduces the audience to the backstage personal drama of a hysterically dysfunctional cast. The farce shows the comical disasters that ensue from tryouts in the Midwest to the Broadway opening of the play “Nothing On.”

Kozak, along with Kaitlan Emery as Poppy Norton-Taylor and Emma Peele as Brooke Ashton, make up a love triangle at the center of the wacky story. David Andrew Laws as the annoying hypochondriac Frederick Fellowes, Dawn Barry Hansen as the forgetful Dotty Otley, and Robin Rightmyer as the stuttering, jealous Garry Lejuene, contribute to the overall madness. Sara Fellini as the cheerful, reliable Belinda Blair, Robert Aloi as the over-worked stage manager Tim Allgood, and Robert Kiernan as the alcoholic Selsdon Mowbray, round out the talented cast.

The production is directed by Christian Fleming, a three-time recipient of the Wisconsin State Theatre Festivals’ Best Director Award and the winner of Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s Playwrighting Competition.

“Noises Off” will be presented Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 15, 16, 22 and 23, at 8 p.m., and on Sundays Feb. 17 and 24, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students under 21, and children.
