Dirk Vander Kooij breathes new life into old plastic toys, videotapes and discarded computer equipment by transforming them into stylish and sustainable pieces of furniture. His studio’s collection exhibited at the Hemkade showroom in Zaandam, the Netherlands, was recently enriched by gorgeous new pieces made from recycled materials.

Dirk Vander Kooij‘s furnishings are made from e-waste and 3D-printed recycled materials. His collection now includes a lens-like lamp made from recycled synthetics and polished metal, a table made from molten disposable plastic, and a new line of coat racks manufactured using recycled synthetics.

The candy-colored Melting Pot Table looks like a 3D version of an abstract painting, but if you take a closer look of the table top, you’ll notice outlines and shapes of the objects it was made from. Old toys and video tapes were incorporated into the design, which consists of a round top fitted on a cone-shaped base.
