Eileen Fisher is ringing in spring with its biggest eco-conscious apparel collection to date. The venerable womenswear label, whose latest range brims with planet-friendlier fabrics like organic cotton, organic linen, hemp, forest-friendly Tencel, recycled polyester, and Bluesign-certified silks, can now claim 52 percent of its season as “sustainable.” It has also doubled its use of organic fiber, which now accounts for roughly 70 percent of the cotton in its entire line. “Becoming more mindful about clothing means looking at every fiber and every seed and every dye and seeing how to make it better,” Eileen Fisher, the brand’s eponymous founder and chief creative officer, tells Ecouterre. “We don’t want sustainability to be our edge we want it to be universal.”
