Google maps RAMBO, tiny new neighborhood in DUMBO

A tipster emailed the Curbed blog to tell them that “Rambo,” short for “Right Around the Manhattan Bridge Overpass,” is now appearing in Google Maps as a sub-neighborhood of DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass).

The tiny sub-nabe supposedly encompases just four blocks: from the BQE to Nassau Street, Tillary Street and the Manhattan Bridge overpass.

Is this some sort of realitor’s ploy? How small can a neighborhood be, anyway?

Curbed asks the sensible question: Does inclusion on a map legitimize a neighborhood?
