Hectic Hyphenation

The first time I met the Dash family heir, he was holding court in a shady SoHo basement party. The venue was dark and crowded, with weed smoke so thick I could barely see what was going on in front of me. People danced, trance-like, while Da$h performed his tracks, the perfect opportunity to snap a couple shots. Luckily, this emerging rapper didn’t mind at all. The chaos was dope because it allowed me to shoot candidly amid the crowd.

Then people started to get wild, pounding the low ceiling of the venue, spilling drinks, and passing blunts around as if it was one big house party. Amongst all the ruckus, the one thing that stood out was that this kid could definitely spit. He’s going to go far and not because of who he’s related to, but because of the quality of his talent.

You would figure the nephew of Dame Dash would be cocky, but on the contrary this guy was super chill (Must’ve been all the OG Kush he’d been smokin’). Bangin’ beats, sick rhymes, clouds of ganja (Oh yeah, don’t forget the vodka); it felt like a once in a lifetime type experience watching a new generation of potential super-stardom unfold.
