Notioning wind,

attention assumed by a scent.

Frame of fly ridden,

un-recycled trash,

busied streets crackling

with construction,

unleashing clouds of dust

and mold, asphalt coughing

senselessly, begging

to have more to beg for.

Spirit of trade

haggled into submission,

pockets emptied for

doughnuts and socks.

Honking crowds.

The fixation: roasted almonds.

Mirage of the vertical desert.
