Hans Kotter Makes Brilliant Light Installations With LEDs

In a constant exploration of new materials and techniques, he creates visually stimulating pieces with colors and light, some of which are encased in glass boxes, while others seem to explode.

Berlin-based artist Hans Kotter makes light installations unlike any we have seen before. Working with all sorts of materials, such as mirrors, Plexiglas, metal, glowing foil, light boxes and LEDs, Kotter creates mesmerizing, complex optical illusions. One piece, called Luminescence, features a series of acrylic tubes with beams of light shooting out from a tilted glass box.
