Berlin-based artist Hans Kotter makes light installations unlike any we have seen before. Working with all sorts of materials, such as mirrors, Plexiglas, metal, glowing foil, light boxes and LEDs, Kotter creates mesmerizing, complex optical illusions. One piece, called Luminescence, features a series of acrylic tubes with beams of light shooting out from a tilted glass box.

Kotter crosses photography, sculpture and technology to create glowing installations that give physical form to light. In a constant exploration of new materials and techniques, he creates visually stimulating pieces with colors and light, some of which are encased in glass boxes, while others seem to explode.

Kotter has worked with many materials, technologies and techniques and seems to know exactly how to split light up in its spectral colors. From LED sculptures to room-sized installations, these brilliant creations detonate emotions, hypnotize viewers and add a whole new perspective to art.
