New Year, New You. For many the New Year is time for rebirth, a chance to wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. Six years ago, Floriano “L’Italiano” Pagliara found himself in similar situation.

His story is one of not giving up, but finding ways to reinvent himself. A year of life can be a human being’s toughest opponent, with endless outcomes and possibilities. But, when u get knocked down you’ve gotta get back up, and dust yourself off. You’ve gotta get back in the ring.

Try harder, train harder. You’ve got to keep on fighting. If you can still swing, then it’s not yet time to hang the ol’ gloves up. In Italy they call boxing “L’Arte Nobile”, the noble art. When we approach a violent sport from this perspective, there is no better comparison to life.

It’s hard and exhausting, but also beautiful and fulfilling. You win, and you lose some. Winning feels great, but losing makes you who you are, or it can transform you into who you will become. Happy New Year, hope this one’s a real knock out.
